(25.11.2010) The script that was developed to generate the DDL to build and manage partitioned and global temporary tables has been completely redeveloped, and has recently reached a significant milestone.

Gfc_pspart is an application generic data-driven PL/SQL packaged procedure that will generate DDL for partitioned and global temporary tables for any PeopleTools 8.x system on Oracle 9i or later. It is only necessary to define the partitioning strategy in meta-data. The package retrieves all other information from the PeopleTools tables.

It will generate the DDL for any form of partitioning supported by Oracle RDBMS, including:
- adding range, list or hash-partitions or sub-partitions to an existing table,
- global non-partitioned, globally partitioned or locally partitioned indexes.
Product specific meta-data is available for Global Payroll, Time & Labour, General Ledger reporting, and PeopleSoft Performance Monitor. Otherwise application specific meta-data must be generated.
This utility is available as a free upgrade to any Go-Faster customer who already uses the gpbuild.sql to partition their Global Payroll tables. Otherwise, it is available on a commercial basis.
